Bringing New Life to a 1970s Home
Originally built in the 1970s, the home featured a low-pitched and even flat roof in some areas, making the interiors feel closed in and outdated. To modernize the space, we completely removed the existing roof structure and replaced it with new roof trusses. Raising the ceiling height and adjusting the roof pitch dramatically enhanced both the curb appeal and the overall feel of the home.
The homeowner envisioned a kitchen that felt bold yet timeless, featuring dramatic countertops and simple, warm cabinetry. To achieve this, we designed a space that balances statement-making materials with clean lines and a warm, inviting palette.
The Final Transformation
This project was all about creating a modern yet inviting space that felt effortless and luxurious. By blending warm natural materials with high-end finishes, we delivered a kitchen that is timeless, functional, and uniquely tailored to our clients’ style. The natural white oak cabinetry brings warmth and texture to the kitchen, complementing the sleek, modern layout while maintaining a timeless appeal. The veined (faux marble) porcelain countertops, with a custom 3-inch thick edge, extend seamlessly into the backsplash, creating a continuous, high-impact design that feels both luxurious and organic. To enhance the flow of the home, we carried white oak herringbone flooring throughout, adding a layer of classic elegance and visual interest. A custom metal range hood with brass detailing serves as a striking focal point, beautifully tying in with the brass hardware and fixtures for a cohesive look. While the majority of the kitchen features white oak cabinetry, the black cabinetry in the background introduces a bold contrast, adding depth and sophistication. Finally, panel-ready appliances were seamlessly integrated, ensuring a clean, uninterrupted aesthetic that prioritizes both style and functionality.
