Creating Convenience: Adding a Guest Ensuite with Contemporary Flair
For this project, our goal was to enhance the functionality of a guest room by adding a private ensuite bathroom. The challenge? Finding space within the existing layout. To make it happen, we repurposed the laundry room and utilized part of the guest bedroom’s walk-in closet. The laundry was relocated to the garage, freeing up just enough room to create this stylish new bathroom.
Designing for a Windowless Space
Since the new ensuite didn’t have natural light, our focus was on creating a bright, airy feel through thoughtful design choices. We chose large-format white tiles with subtle texture to add visual interest without overwhelming the space. These tiles not only keep the room light but also help reflect light to create the illusion of a larger area.
A Pop of Personality
To give the bathroom a contemporary vibe, we added a floating vanity in a bold pop of color. This focal point adds warmth and character to the space, keeping it from feeling too sterile. Accents of black in the fixtures and hardware complement the vanity, tying the design together with a sleek, modern edge.

The result is a bathroom that is both practical and inviting. By repurposing underutilized spaces, we created a private retreat for guests that enhances the overall value and functionality of the home.
