A Primary Bathroom Refresh on a Budget
This project was all about making smart changes to transform a tight, outdated ensuite bathroom into a functional and beautiful space—all while staying within a $35,000 budget. The bathroom hadn’t been updated since the 1960s, as evidenced by its pink tile countertops and shower. While the homeowners wanted a refresh, they also needed the design to align with the traditional style of their home.
Maximizing Space and Functionality
To address the cramped layout, we carefully reimagined the space. By extending the bathroom an extra foot into an adjacent wall shared with the kitchen, we were able to create more room for the vanity area. The additional space makes getting ready in front of the two sinks far more comfortable.
We also expanded the shower nook, adding an extra foot in both width and depth. This seemingly small adjustment made a huge difference, transforming the shower into a more inviting and usable space.
Timeless Design Choices
To keep the bathroom feeling light and bright while giving the illusion of more space, we chose classic marble tile. Its natural elegance complements the traditional style of the home, adding a timeless quality that will never go out of fashion. The use of marble also reflects light beautifully, enhancing the open feel of the room.
