DIY Corner Bed Frame
This week I finished a custom corner bed frame for my two daughters who share a room. (I still have to build the corner nightstand part) I was inspired by the Pottery Barn Corner-Bed-Frame in the picture below.
What you will need for this project:
2 IKEA Kallax Shelving Units (1x4)
2 Trofast Wall Units
12 Trofast Storage Bins (small)
8 Trofast Storage Bins (large) or Kallax bins
Wood- (Home Depot)
1 1x6x8ft
5 2x3x8' stud
8 table legs (I went with parson legs)
5 1.5" corner brace (4pack)
1 1.5" double wide corner brace (2 pack)
Cuts
1x6 ------> cut 39" & 33 3/8"
2x3 ------> Cut 2 57 3/4"
1 39"
2 15 5/8"
1 37 3/8"
6 20 7/8"
Parson Feet--> Cut to 4 3/4" ht
We first built the Kallax unit and the Trofast units.
I attached the Trofast Unit to the end of the Kallax Unit, as seen here.
I then started building the frame, screwing it together (I am not good with hammer and nails).
Once it came together it looked like this. I think I may still add some plywood to add some additional support.
As you can see I still need to build the corner unit. This tutorial will come later this week.
And here is the bed frame with the mattresses and their new comforters. The room is not finished at all (please don't judge). I still have some book ledgers build and install along with the corner nightstand unit.
Total Cost for Bed Frame Unit including comforters (not mattresses) $363
